Kagi is now beginning development for Orion on Linux! It’s a webkit based browser, which isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I am ecstatic to see something other than another freaking Chromium browser!
Kagi starting development on Orion for Linux is exciting news! While WebKit might not be for everyone, it’s refreshing to see an alternative to yet another Chromium browser—just like how Blue WhatsApp APK offers a unique experience compared to the standard WhatsApp, giving users more customization and control over their messaging!
Not using any browser that isn’t open source.
Orion is a browser, for those who also had never heard of it.
I use it on my iPad. It’s like Safari but on steroids. You can install Chrome and Firefox extensions. I’m hopeful it will become open-source in the future.
Ohhhh now this is actually pretty cool. I was disappointed they were doing it for MacOS, but I will definitely give it a try on Linux.
I like their search engine just fine.
Same here. I am just so happy to see something different in the browser space. Couldn’t come at a better time!
Okay, I think I like where this is going. I don’t usually enjoy apps “ported” from other platforms, specially from macos, since I feel them like windows to those platforms, but this could be a good thing nevertheless, nice!
WebKit was originally a fork of KDE’s KHTML and K JavaScript. So technically it’s a return to Linux at least.
EDIT: GitHub page
It’s also not fully open source, but on the FAQ page for Orion there is a mention that they are working on it!
