I think the title explains it all… Even right wing influencers can have their faces eaten. And Twitter views are literally their livelihood.

Trump’s conspiracy-minded ally Laura Loomer, New York Young Republican Club president Gavin Wax and InfoWars host Owen Shroyer all said their verification badges disappeared after they criticized Musk’s support for H1B visas, railed against Indian culture and attacked Ramaswamy, Musk’s DOGE co-chair.

Here I thought the in-fighting wouldn’t start until after Trump had actually taken power.

The infighting is not a bug, it’s a feature. All (wannabe-) dictators need factions under them that compete for their boss’s favor and are therefore at war with each other. It is supposed to keep everyone from getting too powerful and also extract the most from them.

Dipshit Musk, Ramasmarmy and the others know that, because that is also their style of leadership. And they know that in that system everything is permitted to get ahead.

It is worrying though how openly they fight. That is a sign that the „new normal“ has taken hold.

The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum

Like we needed conseratives losing a meaningless digital badge and throwing a fit about it to convince us they’re all children trapped in adult bodies.

It’s like the Fuhrer ripped their swastika badges off and now they’re all upset and feeling betrayed.

      The issue is it works.

Musk basically killed a US budget bill with Tweets. Imagine typing that out as fact a decade ago.

And that badge brings engagement, which is literally how they make a living.
