Windows 10 will become unsupported but I still anticipate it working fine even without updates. I suspect office will work the same on existing machines.

Discord definitely does have phone number verification on selected accounts if it thinks you are doing something suspicious. Just try making a discord account with protonmail and on a VPN and you should get a similar message.

As much as I would love it I don’t think we are gonna see more encryption in the discord ecosystem. I am convinced that discord was not recording calls prior to introducing e2ee since they were peer to peer so they are not giving up any data in adding it

Not saying this makes up for it but discord recently introduced e2ee calls. This means if you have to communicate with your discord friends securely you have to call them.

Sometimes a show is bad. Sometimes some people just are not willing to put the effort into a show and therefore can’t really enjoy it that much. By far the greatest shows I have ever watched have been ones I have been highly invested in (watching episodes as they air). This is also why I still prefer to go to the movies since it forces you to completely focus on what you are watching.

Even if Lemmy could track IP addresses its so easy to use a VPN or proxy I doubt it would stop most dedicated ban evaders.

Honestly its just how cheap computer hardware has gotten. It might seem crazy but the fact that I can basically do everything I could ever need to do on a computer on a cheap windows laptop is nothing short of amazing.

Keepass2android should be able to handle nextcloud sync from within the app so that might work better than on device sync. If your done with keepass bitwarden or proton pass are common alternatives
