I’m not gonna call you names if you like bitter beers or whatever… I just plain ol’ don’t get how. Because to me all bitter flavours feel like a punishment.

By the time that passes (if it does), the bitterness doesn’t taste quite as bitter anymore, and other tastes come through. Same for spirits and the burning sensation.
