I’m pretty sure imagemagick posterize would allow you to specify a palette but I’ve not done it myself
I suspect such a model would have to be far more attuned to its data being smaller but trustworthy. Something like chatGPT for example requires a huge volume because it’s weakly affected by any particular datum going in. It’s designed to adapt to general conversation norms, rather than specific facts. If you could take a generalist like chatGPT and combine it with an expert model that’s been told everything it’s told has a huge weighting then that would probably be a big step forward.
It can survive well where there’s editorial control. I’d talk to an AI if it had only read encyclopedias for example…
Search is eventually going to be so enshitified that the way to actually find out things is going to fall back on “ask someone you trust who knows things you don’t”. At least by that point those trustworthy people should be better informed than in the past…
AP, Reuters, BBC, the Guardian, the Financial Times, the Economist, also Ground News (at risk of sounding like a YT content producer)
piece of shit who sexually objectified his own daughter (if not more than that)
Was aware of the rest but not this, what is this referring to?
(UK) Last time I started in a unioned job the company (voluntarily?) told me about it during my induction, there were flyers in the break room, a poster in the break room with a named representative on my floor (a regular worker like me, it was voluntary) and official rep who I could call. Maybe once or twice a year the union did a presentation in a meeting room at the office and you could could take the hour (unpaid) to go and watch, after which you were encouraged to sign up. Semi regular emails through the year to my company email address about pay and bonus negotiation etc.
And even then the European countries that feel they’re ahead of the rest tackling racism it’s usually only the urban university educated talking with their fingers in their ears ignoring the majority of the rest of their country.
I feel slightly less dirty afterwards than at McDonald’s…
I know Jordan Peterson has a lot of followers. He says it’s the women’s fault men are lonely
Peterson has a habit of saying things that might technically be true in isolation but will then disagree with you when you try and make a conclusion from it. In this case he has also said it’s men’s fault for not making women a good enough ‘offer’.
Can we not
Because men are “allowed” to look however they want, grouchy, happy or ‘keep the fuck away from me’. If a women does it she’s got “resting bitch face” or gets told to smile. It’s just a subtle way of saying “you don’t look right here let me change you”. If you kept saying it to guys they’d tell you to fuck off.
I don’t think it’s a good thing! It just seems to be inevitable…

Joking aside. I struggle in everyday conversation or in most job settings because the small inconsistencies and inaccuracies that are a normal part of everyday speech accrue in my head without any discharge in a painful way and I either detach to cope (and look like I don’t give a shit) or have to splurge back at someone all the minor nonsense logical inconsistencies they’ve been using over the last few minutes. Or people rely so much on you being in the same mental world as they are that I genuinely don’t understand what they mean and come across like a pedantic asshole. From experience this is deeply unwelcome. I would not last long anywhere where normal conversation and ways of thinking is not the thing under the microscope.
In software development, I can take architects, senior devs, department heads, c-level execs… whoever… streaming technical info, regulatory requirements, business processes at me seemingly for any length of time because I can ask anything I want and at the end of it they’ll ask me what’s wrong with it and I can give them a list and how to fix it. I’m also completely immune to telling senior-whomever that they are wrong, because when I tell them, it’s because they are and I can show them why.
For this I am paid $$$. Anywhere else I would be fired.
(Also, watch The Accountant, it’s great)
Probably running something like yt-dlp
Bit of an urban legend apparently. Despite the gulf stream transporting warm water it is nowhere near enough to explain the difference. Richard Seager et al quantitatively put its contribution at around 30% of the difference. The bulk cause is actually air currents and the different topography between Europe and N America. In other words, if there were no gulf stream the ‘warm Europe’ phenomena would still be very much noticeable.

I tend to enjoy being devil’s advocate on controversial subjects so I’d score a 9/10 fucked through sheer misinterpretation
