Tell them the NIST recommendations for password frequency changes have been really reduced in recent times because it pushes people into other bad password practices. Among all factors, changing the password frequently is the least important.

But I also worry about new areas of weakness with passkeys - anyone accessing the device with the passkey on it, or hacked that device, gets access automatically to the accounts. Also if logins are too fluid I worry that anything out of the ordinary during sign ins won’t be noticed.

I think all of humanity, probably every country, has a “crappy past” but every effort to be better is worthwhile and should be latched on to and bolstered. The “myth” of a better America helped shape decisions for the better, was a guardrail, was a goal being worked towards. The story we tell about ourselves, whatever aspirations we have can become real if we try and keep trying.

Hmm I don’t remember it being too bad, but I was very used to traveling at the time. Work-wise I was able to find well educated staff with a good enough knowledge of English to work ok so it was all good.

I lived there for a while, it’s very cool, it feels like going back to the wild Wild West. Bonus points if you like to drink, deduct points if you’re a vegetarian (they mostly just have meat dishes).

I hate to say it but I’ve been using a tongue scraper a girlfriend got me like 15 years ago now. Sounds gross and maybe it is, but it’s hard high quality plastic and doesn’t seem to get dirty in any way, cleans off well, so…

It’s small enough I recognize users all the time, which is kind of nutty, and I’m not even a heavy user I think.
