Can’t watch the video right now, what does Ohanian have to do with New Digg?
That’s really unfortunate. Does the platform they’re on not have the “block instance/domain” feature?
And they still left the fediverse?
Did they know about the idea of different instances, and each one having their own set of rules and missions?
I actually have a pretty high opinion of PugJesus otherwise…
After thinking about this a little bit more: can we just only exclude anything related to xenogenders, no matter the instance? or even just the topic when coming from blahaj? There could be actual moderation issues on blahaj, as seen with 196’s fiascos.

A dogwhistle is something that’s been used so much by a certain group (usually of hatred) that it’s gained the suggestive connotation of a bunch of arguments or a certain belief. It’s like saying black people like eating watermelons. Wikipedia describes it as “the use of coded or suggestive language in political messaging to garner support from a particular group without provoking opposition”. That’s the status the “attack helicopter” identification has gained, as it’s frequently used by bigots to mock the concept of identifying as a (different) gender.

The DuckDuckGo browser and search engine have been free to use since day one. We make money from privacy-respecting ads, not by exploiting your data. When you search for “car” we show you a car ad — it’s that simple.

I hear NSA is creating an eight-dimensional KOSANET that scrapes the information from top-secret backdoors in your IDEs to be sent to this marvelous website’s server-side caching.
