  • I’ve found the opposite to be the case unfortunately. Plex “just works” while my jellyfin server had almost constant issues with subtitles (two of my frequent users need these because of hearing problems) and would frequently crash requiring docker restarts.

I adopted jellyfin very early, used it for many (maybe 6?) years and these problems only got worse over time.

I always prefer open source (often to a fault) but I am glad I switched to Plex a few months ago. I got the lifetime pass for cheap for black Friday. I still leave jellyfin running for a few users, but everyone else has already switched over.

He won “legitimately” by suppressing the votes he couldn’t get in swing states. I heard that if you’re black or in a metro area in a swing state that your vote was likely thrown out through some beurocratic bullshit.

Grain of salt: I did hear this on YouTube and I don’t remember the channel, it might have been humanist report or something like that. It definitely sounded legit, though.

They had four years to corrupt the election offices in specific areas and I 100% believe they could and would pursue that opportunity.

EDIT: another poster shared this, this is basically the same thing I heard. https://www.gregpalast.com/trump-lost-vote-suppression-won/

  • There’s are multiple leftist gun associations and they all have my full support (and the SRA has my membership).

Unlike the MAGA lunatics, the left actually has something to protect: those who are under attack and are unable to protect themselves. The women and the LGBTQ+ people in our country NEED to be able to protect themselves because the government is obviously not interested in their safety.

These organizations are not militias. We don’t plan attacks, we don’t conspire to subvert order. Our purpose is to train and protect those who need protection the most.

  • Simple: It’s diversity. They hate diversity and would rather live their lives only interacting with people like themselves and never having their world view challenged.

It’s racism and there’s a shocking amount of folks who will just straight up tell you that they are racist if it’s not in public where it could affect their jobs. There’s also plenty of losers who don’t care and are just openly racist, but they don’t tend to have careers on the line.

  • I went into Walmart yesterday for my annual soap/shampoo/mouthwash bulk purchase as they have the products I like at the best price (in bulk). I got to the section and it was all locked up behind glass…

I turned around and walked right out. No idea where I’m gonna get it from now, but I’m not gonna support that bullshit.

The claims of mass losses due to shoplifting have been proven false multiple times over. These are just racist store policies intended to make you spend more time in their store or to buy online or from mobile apps.

    Enshitification keeps on keeping on.

  • All my gear is stuff I’ve saved from the dumpster at work except my hard drives and my UPS. I’m using the IKEA end tables instead of racks (I think they are called lakka?). My jbod chassis is huge and very loud, but it was free. I dropped cables into my basement and I only hear it when I’m down there.

I started off with just a desktop tower full of spare parts, but over time it’s slowly become a pretty impressive stack.

  • Xbox Game Pass for PC is an incredible value, even with the caveat of having to run windows (which sucks so bad). That’s always my top rec for PC gamers.

Elden Ring is still my number one game. It’s awesome and will run great on your new PC as well as your deck. It’s also got a lot in common with your listed games.

Grounded is a great game as well! It’s a reasonably difficult survival crafting game (like Subnautica). Same goes for Return to Moria.

  • Yeah but people don’t dress up in ugly logo covered clothing and face/body paint and spend millions and millions of dollars to build and fill up specialized stadiums with screaming fans to watch strangers play chess.

A game is a game. The actual stakes are basically the same when I play Mario Kart on my couch as when a couple dozen dudes in tights smash into each other in the cold at the sports balls stadium. There’s a winner and non-winners and the outcome means basically nothing to the people spending money to watch and wear their overpriced matching fan attire.
