Didnt feel good, tried it first
They planned ahead to make it popular, twitter developed it while losing money, my conspiracy theory is their goal was always to transition to bluesky since its model is more sustainable for long term control
Why do they want google scraping text they paywalled, they decided this
Went with cachy, works well.
On kde I can have a bottom bar plus a top bar that is only in the middle not the edges, I like the notch look, only way I can get a top bar in gnome is slightly notched it still goes all the way to the edge. Or I can have no bottom bar and then I can have the top bar centered using gnome to panel, but I like having both. Its just annoying to get exactly right unlike kde, but has more extensions I like right now. Idk, im having issues with extensions not working after reboot, like arcmenu, which i need for gnome to be usable, so far now ive swapped back to plasma.
If he has support, he’ll be fine. My issues learning stuff growing up was no one in my family to teach me anything, so frustration and giving up was common. Imo fishings just boring af most ppl would hate it, especially if you don’t like nature. Learning code is way easier younger, your brain just makes associations related to language easier. Coding itself isn’t particularlly hard, easier the younger you learn.
There are coding related games on iphone like human resource factory that might help.
Id introduce them to scratch on the tablet and see if they like that.
The public freakout sub apparently, commented on an alt on a post with thousands of comments, and it was an auto perm ban for my 3 accounts for evading a ban, I was someone who liked commenting into the void, not getting replys on front page posts felt weirdly good. The comment that got me banned wasn’t controversial, it was automatic and instant.
Yeah. I had a perfect gnome setup for myself, but then arc menu stopped working with dock to panel randomly and now wont turn on. No idea how to uninstall it.
Its prob because of my self hosted instance being iffy(goes down for a few seconds at a time because all of my cpus will go from 18% to 100% for a second sometimes, think friendica causes it), the other apps dont have issues reconnecting when it tweaks, thunder I usually have to force close a few times before it works again, thats more of a shoddyinstance issue with the app.
Everything is hard to search and ppl pull the same its already been asked before stuff in there lol Great idea moving help forums to a chat, as a supplement its great, terrible as the main/only option.
Shoutout reddit for banning me, they accidentally helped me pull myself out of a cycle of looking at news that pissed me off and arguing with strangers. Lemmys a lot better with it, reddits just filled with controversy algorithim and bot posts. It got me to delete X too, same problem since musk took over, miss the old agorithim, but its never coming back. (old reddit is dead too, gotta accept it, was fun af while it lasted)
When you get paid more based off engagement ofc mfs are going to be controversial, and ofc thats what they want since it keeps ppl on the app
The real hard part of linux is decision. I’m indecisive af so deciding a distro and then a de took forever. I’m still going back and forth on gnome and plasma. My only issue with gnome is I cant seem to get my top bar centered (cant find extensions) and only in the middle which was easy on plasma.
Thunder has become my main, has the least issues for me, been meaning to customize arctic since its a bit quicker being native. Thunder will sometimes take a bit to post a comment.
Reddit, ruined forums, I loved checking forums, I wish federation became a thing back then and all the forums interconnected instead of moving or dying due to reddit communities. It bugs me how they went from being a useful hub for the internet, a link aggregator, guide to the web with wiki/comments to a walled garden.
People don’t like redditors in general, its an insult, I dont think lemmy has the same vibe but its also not popular
I didn’t know a single redditor either, some ppl who had seen my name (my dumbass doxed my full unique name as my username when I was a kid and I didnt change it forever) irl had mentioned it to me, but they didn’t use it past google, they weren’t posting, commenting, or signing up
Not sure how to find filesharing irc networks

Thats actually solid, id have bought this over my current tablet if its around 500$ No good convertible touch screen options below 1k. You can maybe put linux on a tablet with a keyboard case but thats pretty jank compared to this.
Nits could be higher, prob fine for indoor use tho, any lower than 400 max is rough in bright environments.
