That’s true for my field, behavior analysis, but in fairness to us, the laypeople also overestimate their knowledge of my field.

I think the government is like IT. The people assume they don’t need it or as much of it because everything is fine. We’re about to see what it’s like when they fire half of the IT staff and slash the budget to ribbons.

I use my extra screws and nails. It has saved me trips to the store and a lot of frustration. I also have a box of random wood scraps. I use those all the time, too. Props for holiday decorations, securing furniture to the wall, weights to hold down tarps/plastic sheets.

My wife likes to fill spaces. We need this, we need that. I am the kind of person who doesn’t like to get rid of something I feel like I might use later. We both occasionally go through and just chuck a bunch of stuff. I like to be really organized about certain things, and those spaces I am not a hoarder about.

This is how I feel about them–most of the time. Every once in a while I get an itch and really enjoy them. I’m feeling itchy.

Many of us drive a lot. Half-decent cars that don’t need regular repairs are going to run at least 30k, sometimes more. I really don’t understand the 70k trucks, but I may just not have the perspective. I don’t know what you consider too much money on a car, but I have two kids and need something safe for local travel and visiting family hundreds of miles away.

Edit: If there was better public transportation, I would take advantage of it. We were supposed to have high speed travel in Florida–the people voted for it. The Republicans stalled it because there wasn’t a funding portion to the law and refused to fund it.

Mostly I agree, but I think him saying he is pleased is for his cult. They don’t look deeper into the things he says and if he says he did well for America, they will eat that shit up.

I wouldn’t subject the young women to it. Why make the target of the messages have to be involved. Pay someone who knows what they are getting into and can quit whenever they feel like it.
